Students interested in photography will learn more than the basics such as shutter speed, aperture, and ISO. They'll learn when cameras were invented, when the 1st picture was taken, plus many others then on to post processing software. We will take still life, insects, nature and portraits, working with lighting equipment and backdrops indoors. We will be learning digital editing of our images to tune them to perfection to also include artistic digital photography, where students can express themselves creatively.
We will be following some of Photographylife.com photography basics, beginner's guide online with some printed cheat cards and other material. A digital copy of our course with 71 pages will be provided. Students will need Fotogenic Photo Editor , and Adobe Photoshop Express from the Microsoft Store on a computer, laptop or tablet (If student has a cellphone, the cellphone version needs to be brought to class at a bare minimum when editing starts if there is no larger mobile device available.
An affordable professional camera is a necessity for those truly looking into photography, we understand some families may not be able to afford one or may not already have one for their student. . If your student is still serious about this class and also wishes to learn photography, they may use a cellphone with permission from the instructor.
This course can count as a extracurricular Visual Arts Credit for a traditionally homeschooled high school transcript. If a student is enrolled in a charter school, you MUST get written authorization from your student's teacher that they are allowed to use the course for credit, or no portfolio credit will be issued to the school.
