SUPPLY LIST- 1/2" 3 ring Binder, 5 Divider Tabs , TABLET or Laptop with stylus or touch screen ability. preferably a tablet. Students need to have the following programs installed:
(If using a tablet ) Ibis Paint , FlipaClip, Stop Motion Studio, Fotogenic
(If on a computer) replace Ibis with Clip Studio, all other programs listed above.

This class will involve everything from digital advertising, digital art, animation and even stop motion editing. Students will learn the basics of principles of art and design, texture in digital art, light and shadows, layering in digital art and some of the ins and outs of the programs including tips the pros use.
Students will be designing ads, making a digital poster, digital memes with Fotogenic and masking layers, learning how to create graphic novel type art in Ibis (also storyboarding) and stop motion with added digital art to include some basic animations and other animation projects, copyright info, designing original characters and their personalities, using a lightboard for traditional paper animations. Students will be given projects to complete within each digital art medium to include some creative liberties.
The instructor will be using our Studio Projector so students can follow step by step to learn editing and drawing steps for some of the programs. Stop motion projects will be in groups as well as individually.
Stop motion is hands on and will also involve set making, props in miniature, painting and clay work. Students will create an individual and group set. Individual sets and personal characters will belong to the student upon claymation portions of the course ending.
At the end of this course, students will be ready to take on individual projects, be more confident in their skills and how to use the programs as well as being able to take commissions from people with contracts.
We will be talking to students about showing their art via platforms like YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, and social apps where art and comics are shared. If you do not want them creating a social media presence for this purpose, be sure to list this in the forms online at checkout.
