Notable Artists Summer Art Camp July 12-16th
Notable Artists Art Camp
351 N Air Depot Blvd Suite B, Midwest City OK 73110
What's an art camp if we aren't learning about artists? This camp is going to be very hands on, artists will learn about Vincent van Gogh, Picasso, and contemporary French artist, Didier Triglia and recreate some of our own artist renderings in their style.
***Campers must bring sack lunch and water bottle, we will provide snack and lemonade,
$30 for half day, $45 for full, discount for all week, select options at checkout.
Monday July 12th
Recycled art unit on Didier Triglia, we will use crushed cans to recreate our own art influenced by his style. Artists will crush, paint and connect various cans to create an amazingly colorful piece! A couple years ago, the artist himself posted OUR student's art on his Facebook page! We will see who can make the most inventive creations like Da Vinci did in his time, using various common supplies. Edvard Munch’s "The Scream" is fairly known, what's not known is how scary WE can create something...with CLAY.
Tuesday July 13th
Pablo Picassos story will be retold to campers and they will learn about some of his most famous pieces. We will create Picasso pop can portraits with a skewed one point perspective interior room for the background as we contrast Picassos work, Weeping Woman, Donna Moore with Cat) We will make Pop Art donuts, cupcakes, icecream or other bright desserts in the style of Andy Warhol. (We will have a special treat)
Wednesday July 14th
Artists will create amazing Picasso self portrait face cardboard relief pieces with mixed medium, they will for sure be one of a kind. We will make Jackson Pollock HATS! This will be a really cool outdoor activity, totally different than our regular hat designs.
Thursday July 15th
Painting on an 8x10 gallery wrapped canvas, artists will create their own rendering of Van Gogh's Starry Night with a twist, they will add their favorite cartoon characters! We will get very creative with Surreal art similar to artist, Rene Magritte, and see what kind of whacky creations we can come up with using mixed media.
Friday July 16th
Campers will create their own Van Gogh Sunflowers in clay and paint them . We will recreate some more Didier art that is hilarious and awesome using flipflops and puff paints on foam board.
Many sculptures, mixed medium, canvas art and more will be at our Notable Artist Art Camp!
