DIGITAL Art & Media Camp

Ages 10yr+ to teen
Learn or progress on basic animation skills and the fundamentals of storytelling. Campers will study how to create “Claymation” and develop basic cartoon drawing skills.
Artists will use animation software to create digital illustrations and 2D animated short films with keyframes and simple drawings. We will study some differences between different animation programs using popular apps, Flip-a-Clip, ibis Paint X or Procreate for digital layered designs and PicPac Stop Motion & TimeLapse for "Claymation".
Campers will need to bring a sack lunch and water bottle each full day they attend.
Price:
$65 per day.
Campers who are signed up for the full week will get $35 off registration, select “full week” at checkout.
Monday, June 30th :
Storyboard: Create Teams and Storyboard
Fabric : Canvas tote comic painting.
Clay: Sculpt an OC.
An introduction to the program we will use for our claymation video will begin this day and campers can share digital animations they are currently working on.
Tuesday, July 1st:
Clay: Model a stop motion character
Mixed Media: Mini Stage and props
We will further familiarize ourselves with the program and begin capturing motion.
Wednesday, July 2nd:
Stop Motion & Animation: Personal and collaborative projects
Digital Art: Learn about Takeshi Obata, create a digital monster
Artists will use their digital monster art to create a short facial morphing animation meme.
Shrink plastic: Character keychains
In the afternoon, campers will watch a short stop animation video, projected movie theatre style and be introduced to green screen techniques, taking fun photos of themselves.
Thursday, July 3rd :
Stop Motion: Independent stop motion films. Those who weren’t at camp prior will be assistants (moving characters, helping with props, voiceover, etc. while learning) Drawing: Color pencil and Posca OC’s
Digital: Flipaclip animation.
Campers who have attended most of camp will now have the ability to create their own stop animations with their backdrops, stage, character, setting and stage accessories, as well as having a basic idea of short digital animations.
More digital animation will be studied and 2D animated short film will be explored using keyframes and simple drawings as time permits.
Cost- $65 per day
