About Our Studio Ferrets

Our ferrets are more than studio pets — they're part of the HeARTLocke family!

More than half of our ferrets came to us as owner surrenders from families who, for one reason or another, could no longer keep them. They've each brought their own personality, quirks, mischief and lots of love into the studio.

We've also experienced some heartbreaking losses along the way. Loving animals means eventually having to say goodbye, but we wouldn't trade the time we've had with any of them for the world. ❤️

Our ferrets get to spend their days surrounded by art, kids, families and plenty of attention. Sometimes they're ready to play — and sometimes their biggest artistic contribution is sleeping through the entire class. □

How to Play With the Ferrets

Our ferrets love visitors! A few simple rules help keep you and our little studio crew safe and happy.

Clean Hands First

Please use hand sanitizer before playing. Ferrets can catch some respiratory illnesses from humans, so clean hands help protect them.

❤️ Hold Gently

You may pick them up! Please use two hands, hold them securely, and never drop or toss a ferret.

Play Nicely

Let the ferret decide how much interaction they want. If they wiggle away or want down, let them go.

Join the Fun

When they're awake, you may see them running, wrestling, exploring and zooming through their tubes!

Sometimes They're Sleeping

Ferrets sleep A LOT! Sometimes visiting the ferrets means admiring a pile of adorable sleepy noodles.

Snacks Are Serious Business

Our ferrets LOVE their treats! Ask us for an approved ferret snack, and you can give them one during your visit.

We know each ferret's personality and can help you find someone who's awake and in the mood for a little attention.
